A Touch of India

Just in today is an assortment of jewelry or trinket boxes and purses made in India. Since I know very little about this, I'll let the pictures do most of the talking. (Click on each photo to enlarge)

The little horse at the right might have been a childs toy, or just a decorative piece. He does have a latch and is supposed to slide open, but age has taken its toll so we don't want to force it. Open or closed, it's a pretty neat little item.

This beautifully decorated square box features a peacock design on top. Bright and cheerful, it makes a nice storage box for jewelry.

Pictured on the right is an older jewelry box with velvet covered interior and a small mirror under the lid.

This octagonal wooden box shows some age and was used by its owner for potpourri. We've emptied it out. Makes a nice decoration, even if you don't put anything inside.

Not a box, but this small footed platform is great for displaying your perfume bottles on your dresser or vanity.

These purses are all handmade in India and have very little use on them. Great for Mom or daughter!
